Sunday Thoughts

3

Call me childish but I want to change the world. You know, when I grow up. I want to save the world. Humanity, animals, environment, everything.
I wish there was a manual for how to save the world. Being a nurse and a vegan I feel like I am making a teeny tiny difference but I want to make something big. I want to make the world a better place for everyone and I am still trying to figure out how I am supposed to do that. Any tips would be appreciated.

On my decision to become vegan: I’ve been thinking about this for a very, very long time but admittedly lacked the final discipline to actually do it. After reading a lot of books and informing myself on the PETA websites (the German ones), I finally decided to go through with it about a month ago. No animal products in my food, no new leather things, no products that were tested on animals and so on. And so far I can tell you that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made so far. I keep reading things about it and that makes be more sure of my new way of life every day.

I know I can’t change the world over night and all by myself. But I want to make my life on this wonderful planet count and I will never stop trying to find a way to do that.

Sorry if this rather thoughtful post bored you. Do you have these kind of thoughts, too, sometimes? Oh, I’ve made a change to the header to make the design even more minimal and I do like it. I hope you do, too! X

Stripes

It’s so hot here. Almost 30°C! I found this lovely maxi dress by ONLY by accident in a shopping window and just couldn’t resist. Stripes are always a good idea if you ask me and I just love the way it’s cut.

There’s nothing better than (vegan) ice cream in this weather, am I right? Blueberry has become my favourite flavour! If you haven’t tried this you most definitely should. X

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the ridiculous lack of posts last week but I was away with my nursing school class for the last 5 days and had no time or internet to post anything.
I am turning 22 today so no time today, too.
But I promise you: there’ll be a proper post soon! Stay tuned. X

Quitting is not an Option

freeletics1

I’ve already told you about Freeletics, didn’t I? Last week I finished my 15 weeks Cardio Coach. Before I started in January 2014 I didn’t like my body. After moving to Würzburg last year I had gained 10kg(!) and I just couldn’t look into the mirror without feeling uncomfortable with myself. So I decided to change something and the boyfriend told me about Freeletics. The concept is amazing. You train only with the weight of your body either at home or outside. The workouts are short but oh, so insanely tough and when I started I never thought I could go through with it even though I’d done some kinds of sports all my life! What kept me going throughout the 15 weeks was wanting to beat myself over and over again. Beating my PB, my Personal Best and doing that with a star every single time! I just loved the entire experience and guess what? I lost 9 kg. I am so much fitter and I’ve never felt so good in my body. Ever.
So many people have asked me about it when the progress got visible and some of them (7 or 8) started Freeletics themselves. If you’re thinking about loosing weight or just getting fitter and healthier, I MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!

freeletics2

Now that the first 15 weeks are over I still don’t just quit. Freeletics is a sense of life that I never want to loose again. I added Yoga classes and running to my weekly fitness program and it just feels amazing.

Let me show you some pictures.

before
I can’t believe I’m posting a picture of me looking like that on the internet. So yeah, that’s me before I started my journey. 1,68m and 62kg. That’s a BMI of 22. Normal, I know. But I just didn’t feel comfortable with myself.

after week 8
This is halfway through, that means after Week 8. I’d had lost 4 oder 5kg. Good already but I wanted more.

after week 15
Finished! After week 15. Minus 9kg which is 53kg at a height of 1,68m. That’s a BMI of 18 and I’m feeling quite amazing.

Here’s a direct comparison:
beforeandafter
I have to admit that I am really proud of myself.

I just want to say THANK YOU, FREELETICS! You changed my life and you most definitely changed it for the better.

Don’t quit. Because you have to work for what you want. Good things never came from comfort zones. It’s easy as that. X

The first two pictures are copyright by Freeletics. I do NOT own them!

Weekly Inspiration #4

April through my iPhone

It’s that time again! April went by pretty fast, didn’t it? Enjoy my Instagram photos of last month!

1
One of my Würzburg happy places. I had three of my tattoos made there. They’re just great.

2
Enjoying a little coffee/lunch.

3
BEST BURGER PLACE IN TOWN! If you ever visit Würzburg, keep your eyes open for “Burherheart”. Incredible.

4
Good morning, Alte Mainbrücke. That was a magical moment that I just had to capture.

5
Favourite breakfast. Strawberries, banana, granola and soy yogurt.

6
My baby stretching in our garden. She’s such a beauty.

7
Hitting more than 5000 Nike Fuel the other day. I love keeping track of my activity!

8
Yesterday’s outfit! Trousers and t-shirt by ZARA, denim shirt by Maison Scotch and of course vans. I couldn’t decide on a necklace so I just layered my favourite ones.

Show me your April! And you can follow my on Instagram if you like. The name’s @chasingwonders_ X

Here comes the sun

1

Wow, it’s been insanely warm the last couple of days. Before or after work the boyfriend and I just always chill on our balcony or in the park. You really have to remind yourself that it’s April, not July! I am absolutely loving this weather and I don’t want it to change. They say it will over the weekend.

These shots were taken over the last days. Having breakfast (soy yoghurt, quinoa/amaranth granola, bananas, strawberries, grapes = BEST EVER!) before my late shift and another day chilling in the park after my early shift and reading.
Oh, and I KNOW I’m wearing my hair like this forever and in almost every post but that’s because it’s my number one hairstyle. I have to wear it all back at work and the braids just add a little prettiness to quite a funktional hairdo! Have you been enjoying the early summer, too? X

I am desperately longing for a festival! Unfortunately nursing school leaves hardly any time for these kind of things and the boyfriend is pretty busy with university, too. So no festival for me this year.

What inspired you last week? X
